I'm not familiar with the company, but they do have a website.
In general, I don't like purchasing filters from no-name manufacturers as parts can be tough to get. No matter what, eventually you'll need parts. For that particular filter, the UV bulb would require replacement at least yearly. I'd stick with a name-brand filter, for canisters Eheim is tough to beat. For the money, i'd even go with a used model if that's all I could get. I've got boxes full of old filters that I don't use anymore for one reason or another, the worst of which are those that look like the name brands but are not. All it took was for one case clip to break or even an o-ring to leak & they had to be retired as I couldn't get parts. If there is one constant in fishkeeping, eventually you will buy good equipment. How much money you will be willing to waste before doing so is up to you.

My recommendation, save your money & buy an Eheim. The only Eheim model I might avoid is the ECO series. Other than that, i've got a couple Ehiem Classics that have been in operation for nearly 20 years now & I can still get all the parts I need for them.

ide love to but i really can not afford it for couple weeks .

cheers JB
Then why not wait. Is there a desperate need for this filter?

Here's an Ehiem, just an additional 25:

This is a common conversation. I know its hard to look at it in terms of cost vs longevity but I can pretty much guarantee you that in the long-run you'll spend more on the cheaper filter than you would on an Ehiem.

I'm also with Bob on the don't risk it...You will find loads of cheap externals coming in from China at the moment, but getting spares is another matter entirely...I would also say get an Eheim, the classic range is not too expensive but will serve you well over many years to come...You would not regret it.

Hi,

IMO you shouldn't waste your money on that cheap filter.

If you can't afford an eheim go for another well respected named brand like Fluval, JBL or Tetra. They aren't that much more expensive than the one you linked to and you'll get spares when needed. The Tetra EX range did have an issue with leaks so avoid second hand ones but they've now sorted that issue so the new ones are ok.

Its always worth remembering just how much water is being held back by the seals on the filter when its underneath the tank and just how much of a problem a leak will be should it happen.

Chris.
