How does an air powered filter work? Obviously the filter sucks but the air is being blown in. Its been bugging me for a few days now. :wb:

This is not a stupid question, any question asked to further a persons knowledge is never stupid.
The air will try to rise as it is lighter than the water as the volume of air is greater than the volume of water in the filter because it is being constantly refreshed, the water will rise on the air thus causing the water to be replaced.
It could be seen as a venturi action.
Simple explanation.
