never had any problem with them living with plecs, but i wouldn't trust them with newly hatched fry

super peaceful fish but will definitely eat fry, they are very quick and they do need a big tank as the swim fast up and down and they do grow big. They also need a high oxygen level

They are beautiful fish, I have three large ones approx 4" in my plec tank- no issues at all....however

I made a stupid mistake one day of buying 2x batches of neon tetra's one lot for the large plec tank and one lot for my zebra tank.

There were about 20x - week later when walking into dining room i noticed there was no blue cloud swimming around the tank- asked my sis if she had removed anything- answer no.

It suddenly dawned on me what had happened!! To this day i dont know why i put them in and didnt click. Learnt me lesson!

I have some awesome looking black ruby barbs which i think are fantastic looking when coloured up.

I have 6 x 5 inch redline torpedos and added a load of baby neons a few weeks ago and they haven't touched them. Strange I would never have suspected them to eat smaller fish
