Does anyone know if the Royal on LiveAquaria at:

is actually an L027? I can't imagine it would be as hard as they are to find.

Could be but then if you take a look at all the other plec on the site it should give you some idea of what to expect as just about every other one is misidentified or shows the incorrect picture. Could be they have it or they are selling something else as L027 simply because they know L027 fetches a higher price or they simply don't know any better.

That's what I was afraid of. Royals are my favorite so someday I may buy one from them just to see what I actually get. It'd be a nice fish no matter what kind of Royal. Thanks, Lornek.

I wouldn't risk it. Its the same reason I haven't got an L177, i have seen a fair few gold nuggets around but have never been certain that one was def a L177 and don't want to end up with something I don't want.
