Sex and Type please?

This pleco is about 10" in length. Adult maybe? I wasn't informed much of the species as it was rescue.... Any clues of sex/genesis?

Looks like one of the Gibbiceps family. I would guess male but those rear fins shredded like that, perhaps its a female which a male has tried to trap and breed? Nice looking fish though and should like eating mostly vegetables.

I googled the type you mentioned.... doesn't look like it. This one looks almost like its crossed with a regular common pleco and a zebra

To me it looks like it belongs to the Pterygoplichthys Family...A side view shot with dorsal fin erected would be better for a proper I.D.

It could be P.pardalis but i was looking at it being more like P.disjunctivus,
but i could be wrong there...it's a great looking fish with nice markings.

P.disjunctivus, reticulated belly pattern. P.pardalis has spotted belly.
