sexing pulchers

apart from size are there any differences between male and female. i have 6 and have been trying to get pics but they huddle up and keep swopping places :wb:
one does appear to have a clubbed shaped anal fin :dk: would this indicate anything?

please help i'm going dizzy tying to look for clues

Are these full grown adults? The males may have a longer first ray of the dorsal fin than the ladies if they are adult. You may be right about the ventral fins as males can be slightly longer and pointed and the females more rounded as they would cup them together when spawning but sometimes it's difficult to tell. But I'd say feed them up well and it should soon be obvious which are the ladies as they plump up.

thank gemma and steve, they are practically fully grown slight variants on size, at the moment i think i have 1 famale and 4 males, but i will keep feeding them up and keep an eye

Hi Weisel, The Ventral fins are pointed on males rounded on females .
