Here's my small tangan tank set up.Tank is 1.5ft x 1ft x1ft.I am using a hailea internal filter plus a bubble filter.PH around 8 to 8.5(using those tetra colour strip to measure) coral sand for substrate. It's inhabitants are a Altolamprologus compressiceps,a Neolamprologus cylindricus(i think) and a
Synodontis multipunctata.

Does anyone know the difference between Compressiceps and Calvus? from the profiles i've researched in the past i would have IDd yours as Black Calvus possibly "Congo Black Fin"
Its a beauty either way, love Alto's and Tangs in general, would love a Cyathopharynx foai (Halembe) stunning colours, one day i'll venture into the world of high pH set-ups but i'm not over confident in my abilities to maintain low nitrates etc and i believe they are more deadly to fish in alkaline waters :dk:

yeah the effects of nitrobacter and nitrosonomas in alkaline waters are 2 fold.
As for the whole calvus comp part it seems like a gold head comp without the distinc yellow head.
