I just leave them in, and when I come to doing water changes, try and siphon out as many as possible. But if I miss any, no sleep is lost.

Apart from killing MTS what do assassin snails do. How many do you need to keep on top of a snail problem. I have had conflicting opinions on the effectiveness of assassins.

well i had tons off pond snails,and loads of there jelly egg blobs all over my tank.got 6 assassins and in around 5 or 6 weeks all pond snails where gone.
and my 5 year old boy has named them all and loves sitting in front of the tank trying to find them lol.

How can you tell which snail is which, lol? What names.

I considered assassins as not sure how much good the MTS were for my substrate. I crush any soft shelled snails up and feed them to my fish.

Well all the assassins are diff sizes, lots of silly names he's given them lol.
It didnt take long for them to breed. There are some of there square egg
sacks in the tank already.I'm not worried about the MTS turning the sand
over cos my L081 (ned) moves it around more than any amount of snails can,
and it gets cleaned every week.
