I visited the shop today and took a few pics of what they had in. They are bit plec biassed but thats just me + they are far easier to photograph because they don't move much.

I've tried to remember the names of the fish as best as I can, but give me a bit of artistic license.

First off, these are the fish I really wanted to see. Parancistrus aurantiacus 'Xanto'. First time I've seen them in the UK, a very unusual plec that looks its been hit by a frying pan. I hope they colour up yellow for the new owner.





Shamper Panaque, also known as L418 or Peru Green. A lovely unusual Royal plec variant. They have very nice colour in the caudal fins and patterning in their dorsals. Difficult to leave without one.







L090 Papa Panaque. These are a very uncommon fish that grow very long caudal tail filaments. They were very active and interesting to watch.

Sorry to of missed you today Matt lovely clear photos certainly something I am not great at.
Thin Flamengo Apisto as with all our apistos it's wild caught some arrive thin like that are wormed and treated in quarentine hopefully with my tlc it will get back to full health

Hi all,
Apistogramma does look a bit thin, should perk up after worming and look a very nice fish. It looks like a wild type male Apistogramma agassizi with the stripy tail, could be the Netz (Alenquer form) or Santarem or even the Tefe form (probably a different species).

Apistogramma kelleri is very tempting, it is a mouth brooder, like the closely related A. barlowii (A. "malbruter"). It's just been bred in the UK by Steve Chesters (also in Cheshire).

I have a pair of Kelleri reserved for me Darrel, would be amazing to breed them and see an Apisto mouthbrooding.

Parancistrus aurantiacus is a fairly common fish here. Not all turn yellow though and 'Xantos' usually are imported yellow but turn "normal" colored in aquariums. Don't believe they ever really turn yellow in captivity though, best usually just maintain yellow coloration afaik.

When they arrived they were yellow gold fleck and light green very unusual as they settled they darkened which is normal and I was quite happy to see this, they are now at thier new home with thier new lucky owner when we moved them they started to change colour again which leads me to beleive that the colour is eitheir environment or stress related or both we hope to obtain more of these at some point in the future I personally would love some at home one very cool pleco
