Spraybar or Power Diffusor?

I've seen that i could get a Power Diffusor for outlet.
I was wondering,
What's the advantages and disadvantages or Benifits of using the Spraybar or the Diffusor?

This is my set up at mo


At the mo the Spraybar has fullen on one side and the inlet pipe isn't stuck down but i have new suction cups on way

hi,

I find the spray bar returns the water over a larger space, ie more holes thus more area. The diffuser, however I find adds more oxygen and has only one output thus water pressure is greater in the diffuser. I find the diffuser adds more current. I have always 2 filters on each tank, one with spray bar and the other with a diffuser. My suggestion is to buy one and test it out. cheers jk :thumbup:

I think a 'power diffusor' is the same as a venturi, isn't it?

it is an attachment suited for certain type of filters and direct water flow in one direction and sucks in air at the same time thus diffusing air in the water flow.

That's the one i've been looking at getting.
Was wondering if my tank would benefit from it or should i leave it as it is?

The only way to find out is to give it a try

The diffusor/venturi will introduce lots of small air bubbles, which should increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water (I've no idea by how much though) which can only be a benefit. It'll create a more powerful laminar flow that your plecs will appreciate but perhaps not the rest of the fish.

these diffusers are great. I think looking at your fish being tetras and loaches, that they should be fine with the additional movement. I have all of my diffuser pointing from left to right or right to left but in the back, so the flow is from the back along the back glass .Hope that is clear. I find the flow by the time it gets to the front when it turns is not too bad for the Ls in the caves. cheers jk :thumbup:
