So...when I turned on the tank light this morning...I spotted about 5-6 tiny snails crawling on my driftwood. must be from the last few plants I out in the other day. I'm not sure what kind they are not one of them is on my plants. Since I got home I've spotted a few more and they are ALL all the wood. Also, my tank is in the process of a fishless cycle, so there's plenty on ammonia and nitrites present. Are all snails that hardy? Will they even survive through the cycle?

I don't mind a few snails. They're kinda cute:yes: I guess I'll just have to keep them under control.

Something else I noticed. There a little white, see-though specks all over the glass and everything. They look more like tiny little feathers as you can see them flap around with the water currents. Thats the best way I can think to decribe them. I did get some pictures but I can't post them because I don't have my computer back yet. Any ides??

they may be snail eggs, i have a ramshorn snail problem in my fish tank and they lay their eggs on the glass. Little white ball like specs they look like, similar to what you are describing.

Personally i would get em out while they are in one place cause they are a major pain in the bum lol

about once a week I go on a snail hunt, collect them and bye bye. Snails will multiply, especially if overfeeding. Get them out while you can. they do also add to the bioload. cheers jk
