Hey All,

I'm fairly new to the world of pleco's although I've had mine for about 1.5-2 years now (I think?). My pleco is a common pleco I believe and is about 9" long already (he was TINY when I first got him )

My tank is a 30 gallon tank and I'm concerned about him growing and requiring more space. I don't want to stunt him either! At what point do these guys stop growing? And whats a fair size of aquarium so that he can enjoy himself?

Thanks for your advice :)

A common recommendation for aquarium size is 4L x 2L x 2 L where L is the adult size of the pleco. In your case as commons can get 14"+, your looking at about 150 gallon tank or larger.
