Hi, just to say I have managed to get some small females
at least I think they are female!-lol
to join my existing males,
they are more brown in colour and I hope that is cos they are still young and not becasue they are a different species. !!
there is not much info on these creatures

hopefully the new females will grow as stunning as the males - and even think about breeding!
has anyone bred these?
I gather from web that they have been bred but dont know anyone who actually has.

male is larger golden one

below, new female on rock, male on cucumber

They are easy to breed. However, fry are tiny and eggs are scattered. I did not see any fry until I moved mine to a species tank. They also won't really take most of the cucumber, so you're better off feeding them other foods.

you do have a pair.

thanks, the cucumber is in the tank for the young BNs I have in there.
I add all sorts of foods - flakes, tetra prima, algae wafers, prawns, etc.
I will look at setting up a species tank soon, for when the females are matured a bit more. they are in a 'cool' community tank at the moment, with cory barbatus and BNs and a few dither fish etc.
