My female Green Terror died last night from a swim bladder issue (she was short bodied) and I woke this morning to find my common, Blue Phantom, and L001 had all but completely devoured the carcass! In less than 9 hours!(she was still alive when i went to bed) So anyway, is there any concerns or things I should watch for due to the amount of meat these guys have eaten? This fish was about 4" SL and very thick and tall. the common is about 11", the L128 is 3" SL and the L001 is about 9",usually they get about half a prawn a week each and maybe some bloodworms that my BGK misses but are mainly fed veg and algae tabs. So should I follow up right away with some soft veg, or starve them for a couple days or?
Thanks

Sorry for your loss. I would say in the wild, these fish take every opportunity to feed on protein as it would be very hard to come by. My own thoughts would be do not feed for 1day and then keep up the veggies and protein again next week. cheers jk

Thanks, I officially give up on short bodied cichlids, They always seem to have much more problems. Strangely enough, the hybrid short body fish seem to be much heartier. It's been about 8 hours since i removed the body the plecs seem fine and still passing waste so I guess all is well. I still will starve them til tomorrow evening.
Cheers
