Unidentified Pleco's

Hello all,
I have a few plecos that im having trouble identifying.

1. At first i thought this one was a butterfly clown but the patterns are a different shape esp on the head. The local fish shop told me it was a Gold Nugget... Not sure about that either.

2. I have no idea what this Pleco is.

Any info is greatly appreciated!

1st) Dekeyseria/Zonancistrus brachyurus or Dekeyseria/Zonancistrus sp. "L 52"

2nd) Please make a picture from the side over the whole length and count the soft rays of dorsal fin.

I am finding it hard to tell the differences between the L168 and L52.
do you know of any links that compare the 2?

it is hard, especially at the juvenile stages. the fish looks pretty small still. Maybe you can get some more photos from top and side ? cheers jk :thumbup:

Here is the side view of #2 and is 27cm long.

I am just not sure about #1 being an L52 i think he is male but he has so many large dots rather than stripes! ????

ok, the nose on the L168 / L052 looks like it is sunken in on both sides. It looks like a male. how big is he ? cheers jk :thumbup:

L001 & L022 are one & the same, your butterfly Pleco is described as L052 because the lines are broken L168 have unbroken lines although the L052 has a darker brown or orange colored underside but you would need a L168 to compare it too.

It's Glyptoperichthys joselimaianus (L 1/L 22). Looks like male.

Dekeyseria/Zonancistrus brachyurus (L168) has been scientifically described.

Colors of Dekeyseria/Zonancistrus brachyurus (L168) and Dekeyseria/Zonancistrus sp. "L52" vary very much within both species. This is also dependent on the color of sand and gravel. L 168 may also have broken lines and L 52 may also have only unbrocken lines.

Hi here is a pic of my L168
its colour constantly fades in and out but in my opinion it has more colour than the one we have been discussing

The L168 seems to be more yellow/orange.
