So I just wanted to give you an update on my rescued angelfish. Its been 3 weeks since I brought the fish home from being eaten alive at the pet store. About 2 days after I got it home, I noticed it started to look as though it had pop eye. Then the next day a heavy white film started covering the eyes. The fish hung at the top of the tank gasping and not eating. I decided to treat for bacteria using a combination of Maracyn and Maracyn 2, and I cranked the heat up to 90 degrees. It took 10 full days of treatment (and $35.00 worth of meds ), pwc's EVERY single day, but the fish pulled through. I have to admit that there were a few days where I swore I would see it floating in the morning but much to my surprise, it hung there. Today the fish looks good again, it's fins are growing back and it gets very excited to see me because it thinks I'm there to feed it.

The first pic was the day that I brought the fish home. The second pic is the fish today at 3 weeks.

Thanks everyone!!! It was touch and go for several days wether or not the fish would survive...it really did look pretty bad. The eyes were so cloudy that I thought it was going to be blind forever. I still can't believe I was able to nurse it back to health. At first I was going to give the fish away after it recovered, but after everything that we've been through I've decided to keep it. Whever I walk into the room the fish swims to glass and stares at me thinking "wheres the food". We've bonded.
