Hello All,

I was amazed at this white stuff I had in my tank and it moved. Look at the photos. They were taken in intervals of 25minutes.

then

wow

and

After checking the web turned out to be Slime Mold- which moves looking for detrius and leaf matter. Caused by overfeeding.
Is nature just not wonderful. So am doing daily 30% water changes and cleaned the good old Eheim out. Just to share with you.

cheers jk

Hi all,
They are pretty weird - "Myxogastria" (formerly known as Myxomycota), and not really an animal or a fungi, but somewhere in the middle.

I've never seen one in any sort of water, although the "Tapioca" Slime Mold (Brefeldia maxima) is common on tee stumps etc in the UK.

cheers Darrel

yes was freaky, but did not know if it is harmful to the Ls and fish or not. After my 2 water changes now it has disappeared. I never had this before only after introducing the dried almond leaves. Anyway was something new to see. cheers jk
