Wanted - Large Pleco

Hi,

With this only being my 2nd post - please take it easy on me lol.

I'm after a larger speciment to put in my 6ft tank - needs to be something hardy (poss a royal panaque of some descript).

Anyone nearby have a decent sized one for sale? Im in Manchester

As in hardy i was meaning something quite large and tough :dk:

It will be in a 6footer with cichlids and a couple of catfish (large syno, hoplo, talking cat).
I've had/have plecs. At the moment i have a scobi, a magnum and a tiger (i think, need to get him ID'd on here later).
In the past i've had common, gibiceps, royals, nuggets, sunshine but i got rid of my community tank (with much regret) and have now setup a 5foot inside for the smaller plecs.

I'm looking to build my collection up now and have some more exotic and larger plecs.

OK so i had a look around and what i am after would be something like a L191 or L330 5 inches plus

Ok sorry, just didnt want to give advice to some one who wanted a 'godzilla plec' to go in there Oscar tank coz it is kool, go monster or go home etc:blink:


Royals are a great pleco, just a few things to consider with your set up. You will need some wood, not often seen in a cichlid tank? You will need good strong filtration with minimum dead spots in the tank so his poo gets swept into the filter intake or it will very quickly become a right mess. He will eat scraps from the cichlids, that cant be helped, but to much protien will eventualy bloat him up and kill him:cry:make sure he gets lots of fresh veg and you should be fine though.

Keep yours eyes peeled on ebay and AQ, try not to pay top dollar as you will see them for sale private once in a while.
