Water Changes with Eggs in cave

Hello All,

Do you continue with water changes, once eggs have been found in the cave or do you leave the system alone ? Cheers jk :thumbup:

I water change as normal, room temp as well, no molly coddling :whistle:

i wc 30% every day or every second day... no problem at all....

sometimes if im stealing the eggs i'll put them from the tank straight into my hatchery without worrying about any water parameters

I carry on with the normal care routine when eggs and spawning in the tank

I change morning and night same as spawning water change's on type being spawned,so alot of babies may need alittle etc.

I will only try to clean in front of cave if male is facing in other wise will try on next change.

Try to keep with normal feeding,lights,cleaning etc as fish may get jumpy if turning on lights early or later than usual etc.

Each tank stocking needs different changing so keep a record of amounts etc so if it works stick with it ( and if it didn't try changeing/fildling with this or ask on a forum some may tell others ? )

If eggs are kicked out place in to a tumbler. ( or find a male that will do a better job )

Water on changes should be close to same as tank when eggs are present if possible ( 1-4 under seems fine on my systems but yours may be set up different from mine )

Be mineful to use same water as always when small fry are present as they don't have the strenght until older to deal with large changes in water readings. ( ro/tank/tap can be very different so testing water before use should be done before any water change )

I just carry on with my normal regime. The eggs need to have tip top water

Your normal routine is more likely to be eating pie,s & scratching your nuts rather than doing water changes :lol:
