This is a question regarding water bubbling like perhaps there is soap in the water? But I’m thinking it could be the 28-29deg temp? Does this sound normal does anyone else have small soap like bubbles built up on their tanks water surface where air is being pumped?

There is not allot nor is it a little bit !

i think i know what it is i have alot of new or even old drift that was dry in this set up that is releasing ! so now the water is a dark "brown tint":) i think it was from that,
anyways i think the peppmint bn like it like that so that was the affect i was hoping to get !
the bubble are less now so not worried if i am wrong ?
p.s. the pepps come from this kind of conditions ? right ? i think i even read somewhere that they have dead drying leaves in there enviroment that they like to root around in ? is that true ?
(kinda got a tree out side that has lost all its leaves lol i kinda kept a had full before cutting the grass) dont know if i should add them lol
thanks again guys !

Bubbles that accumulate on the tank surface is typically due to dissolved organic compounds (DOC) in the water or the feeding of something oily. It shouldn't be from the tannins in the driftwood (the compounds in the driftwood that turn the water brownish) as they typically cause the reduction in DOC by helping precipitate the DOC out of solution.

I believe the Pepps in Australia are pretty much tank-bred & far removed from the wild, thus the introduction of tannins in the water, through either driftwood and/or dead leaves, probably won't help much and may actually be detremental if the Pepps have been raised in or are acclimated to water of different chemistry. If you choose to add dead leaves, be sure to get a positive ID of the trees before adding the leaves so as not to introduce potentially toxic substances.

oil from food or dead fish can build up a film, also air sprays such as air fresheners used in the room. bubbles show more in softer water but if they stay on the surface for long then something does not sound right. I would try skimming the surface water off and do w/c.

thanks guys i have been doing 15% wc each day since introduction of the fish thank you for the info regarding natral conditions and tank conditions for for wc & tb fish !
i guess i thought that if conditions are the same but with the help of the perfict ph and constant fresh/clean water they will naturly be more ???? i dont know feel at home lol

as for the leaves there going in the compost they were completly dried and washed from the 3-4 day rain here so i thort it would of been alrigh but yeah not worth it .
wanted to make them feel more at homew not stressing them out!

as for food nls cichlid, waffers, lettuce, tomato & zucchini !

all lids on !
and top cabnet!

i kinda seen some mating behavior just before from the only who iv seen have a bristle i tried to se if it forked but water is to brown lol

it was trying to push another"f" in the cave the "f" left so "M" kinda stayed in front till it came back and "M" move more away then came in closer to what I would say looked like the "M" tried trapping the other ?"if that didn't make sence let me know "

thanks
