I hate to say this but I think i just lost some eggs down the sink!

well they look like plec eggs but are clear and not yellow- so I did not see them in the bucket of water I emptied into the sink! are they fish eggs is teh big question!

only some bits of leaf in the plughole stopped some going down -I did not see them as sink was slowly emptying. when I came back to sink with another bucket I suddenly saw what looks like eggs in the plughole!:eek:hmy:

I cant even be sure which tank it came from! as I was working my way round the tanks. the last tank I did was the L134 tank.

At first I thought, cant be -they are not yellow, they also seemed to be not completely round, like little points on the ends and 3 were strung together, so I thought must be some silicone beads or something (heaven knows where from) , then maybe they had only just been laid?? probably not even fetilised.
so I squashed one, and it had liquid inside, so not like a lump of silicone.

so I have put in a fry saver. when I shine a torch at them they look opaque so I thought must be dead, but when you look they are clear, so must be torch light refracting inside them.

I shall probably have a good laugh when I work out what they are!

ooh - I do have a zeb tank but it was cleaned hours before I found these eggs - so they would have died of cold by now, but would be good if they are starting to breed!
I just did not see them in the water!!!

i used to find empty egg cases from my 134s around the tank they were strung together and clear so check the caves for any fry

these arent cases, they are full of fluid. cant really tell if zebs are breeding as cant see half the caves as they are hidden, and I have no lights on the tank. I did do a clean about in there today, mainly cos worried about the build up of planaria in there so was washing the worms off the bottom of stones etc

approx .5 cm diam. if they were fertile i expect they will be dead now, but have put in fry saver and will see what they are like tomorrow.
I expect you are right cos if i have picked them up on a tank clean it means they were not in a cave with a guarding dad.
but if they have laid eggs then that means I can be more hopeful in a months time maybe!
