I now have two L65's in separate tanks one is still in a Q tank (cannot tell their sex one has the wavy stripes and dots the other is almost entirley black) both look healthy and full bellied. I never see them eat but I have been feeding frozen blood worms and frozen shrimp and wafer, and sinking cichlid pellets.

I read they are carnivorous. But I read one account where someone put in glass shrimp with some kind of carnivorous plec and they ate the shrimp live. What have you been feeding your Blizzard Cactus plecos?

Congrats on your second Blizzard Cactus, at 20cm/ 7.9 inch max and also a full canivore , however does like some veggies as well. Loves prawns and mussels as you stated and also carnivore pellets. As in nature, they do hunt for food and take every opportunity for a feed. If a plec hunts for live pray it might also indicate that they are not receiving enough food and this then is a last ditch effort. Keep an eye on their stomach and eyes, these should be plump and full. Also check for the waste, which is a good sign of feeding. They are nocturnal feeders, so best to feed about 30min after lights out. If you have some photos for us to use in the forum, please send us some. cheers jk
