i use a tube to syphon debris from floor of tank, you have to move the syphon tube intake around the bottom of the tank to where the waste is so it 'hoovers' it up.

:dk:thanks for the tips guys i tried the hoover way and it seemed to push the waste around i even tried getting wifey to hoover(not just womens work) while i pumped the blue bit to try and get the suction but that didnt seem to work did a full water change and it emptied the tank fast which was good for that kind of thing no jugs still trying to find out why my phone has given me a bad file for a picture to post

i have a clear plastic tube 35-40mm taken from a gravel syphon. To the bottom of this tube this i attach a new white cotton sports sock:yes:possably need a elastic band to hold in place if you have big feet:lol:have it so the sock is slack and the toe part goes upinside the tube
to the top of this tube i have a small power head taken from a old internal filter Lucky for me its a snug fit on the top of the tube.
before removing this from the tank place a tub/jam jar inder the pipe as crud/mud will fall back into the tank.

I have a 200 litre hour vac with no water loss:woohoo:

its a good diy project and with a little effort anyone can make something simlar.

first time i had the sock after powerhead but it clogged to fast!
