whats these in my tank

hi ive been cycling my breeding tank for 4 weeks now i washed my external filter out and added the dirty water to the tank aswell as some media balls in the middle of the filter, its near enough cycled readings all peferct and have been for that last week and a half anyhow i noticed these white cotteny bits stuck to the glass filter and heater, there easy to wipe off but keep coming back the pictures aint the best there doesnt seem to be many as ive wiped most of them off but theres still some left in the tank any ideas ??????

As long as they don't start increasing, I would keep removing them manually, its the only way without using chemicals, fish or heat as far as I know

I've heard that too, but to remove any fish and plants beforehand and to do a large water change before adding them back

It could just be an algae or fungus, might be worth giving the wood a good scrub

can you take one out into saucer of water and look with a magnifying glass? else try adding a baby BN or something that likes to eat off the glass?
