talking more about solid and ribbed than hose..

is it the internal or external diameter that's referred to when talking about size?

Typically OD & wall thickness, though OD measurement doesn't equate to a true size, ie 12mm pipe is not 12mm OD.

I'd say 1" (25mm) nominal pipe size.

Hi,

A lot of manufacturers quote 2 figures i.e. 16-22 or 9-12 for instance. The first is the inside diameter and the second the outside.
