Hi all, this morning I came downstairs to start the day & while checking the display tanks in the front room (2x Rio400's & a Rio125) I noticed a king tiger male I was keepong an eye on as I thought he had a female trapped was not at his station blocking his cave entrance. I decided to sneak a quick peek with a LED torch while he was absent. To my complete surprise the back of the cave was covered in wrigglers!!! Unfortunatley I had to remove the fry as the tank also contains a group of large red line torp' barbs that are terrprs for eating fry & spawn when they get the chance. I have put the fry into a fry saver for the time being with a water feed from the main tank to create some surface movement, there were 14 fry in the brood so the red lines may have had some breakfast before I got up! It was already a good day but it was about to get a lot better. Once the fry were all settled I went to my fish room to do the usual checks that there hadn't been any equipment failures or other prob's in the night, in a tank housing my L410 trio I spotted a couple of fry pn the back glass!! Further investigation revealed 7 fry hiding in the decor, I didn't even know they had spawned! Well that throws most of the theories regarding triggering ect as I had not used any different methods of initiating spawning just the usual weekly water changes ect..the water in both tanks is a H.M.A & R.O mix kept at around 180-200ppm TDS & a Kh of 4* dKh. Temp is kept at about 29-32*c, pretty standard conditions & both groups of fish had been with me for more than a year or so. I'm just happy to have fry from them at last. I'm still on my I pod at the mo so its difficult to post pics bit will add them when I can get on my PC again.:woohoo::woohoo:

terrific news, you never know what will trigger them, can be the weather or just the timing. if you count back to roughly when she would have laid, was that a rainy day?
