Zeb pair = 2 males ???

Got these a while back as a pair ( 1m + 1f ) but I think not lol !
What do you guys think ? The last 3 pics are of the 'female'.

How long are they? How old are they ?

They are wild caught so no idea of age but they measure 3.5'' and the second one slightly less than 4''. Not particularly hairy but just look like males to me.

Hi,

I do not have L046, but when I look at body shape, fin size, body extension from head to tail, girth, they just seem to look identical on both. I would tend to go for male for both but am no expert on the L046. cheers jk :thumbup:

yes 2 males... definitely sorry :cry: prob not what you wanted to hear....

at 3.5 to 4 inches they are pretty much full grown adults... females have classic U shape body at that size.... males V-shape....

That's really what I thought, just wanted to run it by you guys.
Everything seems to say male except the lack of odontal growth on the cheeks and pectoral fins.
Could the lack of hair development be down to more dominant males in the group ?

agree sub dominant male most likely, although head slope is slightly like a female. are genitals the same too?

if it helps, here is my male (with young) and a female hanging around. you can see the female has a shorter nose in profile.

I thought 2 males, just had a nigling doubt about the slightly smaller one and appreciated other opinions. Sub male most likely.
