Hey Guys,

Looks like for various reasons i have purchased another tank,

in which is planned a move of my two zebras from my bedroom tank and their planned additions that are currently residing at my lfs.

My question is to those that have them, what is best as a layout for the tank?

I have seen many with sand, gravel, rocks, no rocks, wood etc Water movement, aeration?

I have spare black sand and some caves on hand but I wanted to do something that they would appreciate- any tips advice? I have trawled the zebrapleco site but its more peoples own tanks and their interpretations.

Pics would be a bonus?

Cannot wait to get stuck in.

regards

Paul

nice tank. My zeb tank has a very thin sand layer and a few large stones, caves of varying shapes and size a couple of logs and a java fern.

My zeb tanks are thin layer of sand, more caves than inhabitants and at different angles, bogwood and lots of flow :D

Look forward to seeing what you come up with

Zeb tank with black sand. Seems to do well. I did have a tank with bare bottom, the zebs didnt seem happy, nor were they that rapt in the white sand.
Sand when that shot was taken needed a bit of a clean on the left. I usually siphon some out, swill it around in a bucket and pour off the muck, then add the cleaner sand back.

I notice most of my zebs spend more time up in the tiers playing around than actually out on the floor so try to have it built up a bit. Be careful when arranging, not to have dead spots around the floor.

All my other tanks have undergravel filters. I like a little bit of plants and stuff although I don't have any green thumbs for it at all. Because the tanks are small, many times I don't have to actually gravel vac, just pop the back risers off and put the siphon hose down there. It sucks the muck up from under the ugf plates.

This one I have tried a wavermaker powerhead which seems to work well, and I don't have to clean it. :)
