thanks for looking guys, i hope you can help. have isolated these 2 monstors in a 3' tank with just a cave, hope theyre not both male or may only have one fish in the morn! other members have been succesfull with this technique so just hope i have a pair

First fish is male second is a female.
Notice on the male from the pectoral fins to the caudle fin it is an ice cream cone shape.
On the females between the pectoral fins and the pelvic fins it is almost a straight line, untill you pass the pelvic fins it dosnt seem to proggress to a point.
This can often be seen on overweight males where if your not sure you can reffer to head shape, and again odontodes even on pseuda males like zonancistrus even show a little more than females.

I agree, i cant go by plumpness as can get fat males, but head shapes are quite diff here.
great fish -are you going to try and breed them??
