Hi, I agree 4 is most likely female, harder to be sure with others as I know the females can be a bit hairy. may need to feed them up a bit!

Sizes are 1= 9.5cm, 2= 7.5cm, 3= 8.5cm, 4= 8cm, 5= 9cm, 6= 8.5cm, 7= 6.5cm, 8= 7cm.

Number 7 has always caved from the day I got it but has no cheek odontodes as yet.

Number 5 has quite long cheek odontodes and pectoral odontodes.

The rest have little or no cheek odontodes.

I have had them from 4-5cm since October last year so the next 6mths or so should mature them up to be more definite in male/female traits.

I caught them for a photo shoot since I had to catch 4 otocinclus out of the tank to put in the pond to breed and took the tank apart to catch the speedy little things.

I have 3 fat females and a male oto who have bred in the tank before but I think the king tigers have been making a meal of the fry.
Now the otos have a heated 350L planted pond all to themselves.
Reckon I will have a seething mass of otos on the surface in a year or so?

1 & 3 could be females but they need conditioning before sexing acurately.
4 id say has a high chance of being a female
the rest id say are males

Imo I think 4 and 6 are females but the rest are males or too young......possibly too young to be honest.
