Very hard to get pics- she moves quick except when on the glass, so I have lotsa shots of her belly but not much else. :p

My pair of BN have been in and out of the cave all week, so I guess they're breeding again. But my girl is looking very sad, her front fins are damaged and white and she has a pale stripe down her nose. Could it just be bruising and damage from wriggling round together in the cave or something more sinister? The tank was recently treated for white spot and fungus so it definitely isnt that, and I regularly add stress coat with any changes.. Im hoping she just needs to repair.

Parameters are normal - 24-26*C, no nitrate/nitrite/ammonia, low kH, med GH, 6.5-7.5pH. (btw, does anyone know how to increase kH for my snails without increasing gH? :p)

Tank is 170L, tetras, bettas, loaches, gourami dwarfs, rainbows, catfish, mystery snails, platys. Food is algae pellets, wood, cucmber, peas, fresh blood worms, froz bloodworm and brine shrimp, flakes, betta pellets, native pellets, cuttlebone.

Looks like I have gourami disease ion my tank, my gourami has sores and now they all have patches of brown n grey. And in the last 5 hours nearly all my fish have suddenly developed white mouths and one betta died this arvo. Im totally lost. I hope my BN girl doesn't have anything, now her patches seem a bit more troublesome. I treated with melafix because thats all I have that treats bacterial, but its so rapid im afraid im gonna lose the whole tank before it kicks in.

I would also try and get some Pimafix to use along with the Melafix as it will also treat fugus and internal bacterial issues...Increase aeration whilst you treat.

Treated with Melafix but in the last 10 hours Ive lost almost $400 of fish. Can I take any action against the pet store? Thats the only recent addition to my tank - 5 phantom glass catfish (of which I now have 1). !?!?!?! WWWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH

Sorry to hear of your losses.
I have used melafix since it first hit the market and don't lose fish by using it at stated dose...I would suspect that something else is causing your problems.

oh yeah, im not blaming the melafix, its whatever is causing the patches thats the problem. just put tetracylcine treatment in to cover any hardier bacterias, now to wait, unless anyone can identify the patches?
