Morning All.

A few years ago during the time i had a marine tank I had a beautiful Zebra Moray and a snowflake eel.

I am getting an urge to get another. I would love a Dragon eel but i think it maybe out of the question - price and new tank wise!

I know that there are a couple of freswater eels i was wondering if any of you guys had one or know of anyone that has?

Which one would you recommend a particular one?

Cheers

I had a fire eel when i was in college, they take a while to warm up to you but after some time they never hide and they do get quite big(well long) as well. I love their coloring. They do well on talipia and market shrimps, and seem to leave most tankmates alone.

Fire Eels and Tyre Track's seem to be the most popular, i can understand where your coming from, watching my Rubber Eel (technically amphibian) and seeing the Bichir pix shenzhenluohan posted i've been getting a hankering for more things elongated.
I think the Polka dot Eel is quite attractive, remember most of the available species are Carnivores and most are escape artists so a tight fitting lid and appropriate tank mates are a must.
Still really fancy a small group of Reedfish in a community tank, but i'm really warming to the idea of a species tank with a couple of Bichirs, either Delhezi or Palmas or even Weeksii.

Thankyou for the offer but I am unsure that i could put it in my tank at the moment as with not knowing much more about it i dont know if it is 'compatible' with the possible other tank mates!

Jozebs, is it a young 'black' khuli loach?

Doodle, I have a half banded spiney eel, they max out at 6-8" and are quite lively once settled in - mine eats from hand happily.
