Everyone seems to have different opinions on this. Anyone have any experience/facts on the matter?

I've heard it is irreparable - others claim antibacterial treatments would help.

Also curious about duration and concentration of ammonia needed to cause serious damage.

(Eye damage etc also relevant here)

Why was Seachem stability not used to negate the harmful effects of ammonia?
On the plus side I guess its unlikely the fish has any gill fluke worms left.
Long story. This is more out of curiosity/discussion for future references.

I doubt there's been any studies done on it...might go hunting.

If you are talking about the visual affects of ammonia burn being cured then i can whole heartedly say yes i have had experience and yes it did cure its self without intervention with medication, just with good maintence (was back in the old days when i first started) as for the long term damage...no idea if it had long term affects but i can have a guess and say yes.

If we burt our lungs.....or had scaring on our lungs.... (talking from personal experince)...the scaring can heal over time but sometimes it has a long term affect anyway.
