Hi everyone

This is my first post so hi first of all! :hi:

I have a freshwater tank with fancy goldfish and a sailfin pleco. I have noticed that a lot of my fish seem to have long stringy poo and have a few scales missing. Have only noticed a couple flicking and it seems to be infrequent but it's enough that I feel that something is wrong. The tank is fully cycled and no change to water parameters - all normal.

I was thinking of treating with eSHa 2000 as it covers all bases but the reason I am asking advice is because of the pleco. Do I need to use a half dose? Normally for treatments I move him but both my quarantine tanks are in use at the moment and as all the fish seem to have floaty and stringy poo I think it might be an idea to treat the whole tank. It also mentions doing a water change if I use water conditioner. The water in my area is really bad so I use prime. Do I need to add new water without prime?

Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I use ESHA2000 with my plecs, standard dose, never had any problems.
i thought goldfish had different water requirements to plecs though. what temp is the tank and how big is it?

right, answers to Irene's questions will help to figure out what can be recommended and YES, always add Prime when adding new water. It detoxifies chlorine and chloramides in tap water which are toxic to fish. HTH
