Whoa he is a big boy:nw:

Looks in perfect trim eh, good old piers. They seem to move these fish so fast, every other aquatics place I go to wont take the risk getting them in.

Peru green you say.......
He had been there a couple of months, but some of their 'smaller' 30cm L190 have been there a while now. I think Neil said that a couple of his customers who show fish have packed it in recently, so more for me then!

I think I'll be off the market now for big panaque since im at uni, although saying that a huge platinum xingu will show up (thats a hint to all) and I might have to have it.

I asked about it and Neil said it was from Colombia (I think) so is L191, its labelled as 'Shampupa' and is 9-11". Not my cup of tea though.

Shampupa's are one of my faves but not the right time for me, see my ill health thread :-(.

If your struggling to keep your fish and uni going on at the same time, you need to put me at the top of your 'im having to sell up' list lol, ths latest fish is very dreamy!!!

Thanks for the comments. An update for you. Im glad to see that he is keeping a light base colour with good line distinction. I also hope that the colour keeps extending along the soft rays in his caudal fin, for me its a top attractive feature.

Ive found that if you want them to get the dorsal fin up you show a picture of themselves and them try to get a picture as quick as you can.

Looking good, im sure he will end up with a nice thick band as he is king of the tank. Also I know what you mean about the dorsal, I find if I stick my head next to there cave I get the same responce lol.

I hope so, its a nice feature.

Its dimensions are 120x60x45cm 324 litres/72 gallons gross. In the right corner is there is the intakes for the tetratec ex2400 and ex1200 and the outlet is above them. An eheim powerline internal (usually with venturi on) is in the front right corner. Flow is from right to left and blows most detritus right to the front for the eheim to pick up (and my mum to syphon it out). On the left back corner is the intake for an eheim 2329 wet/dry and because of the flow direction barely any detritus is taking up by it. Im considering a sump as well since there floor of the cabinet open.

I think the clarity of the pics is because of the optiwhite glass, it is noticeably clearer than normal glass. Money permitting I would choose optiwhite for display tanks from now on.

Oh I forgot about the optiwhite tank you was running, I must admit im becoming a big fan. As for the eheim 2329 wet/dry, im impressed you have gone down that road! I bottled out after reading up but by the sounds of it you have got the flows right to avoid all the issues that it brings. Is everything working well with it? Any issues at all?

What scared you off the eheim wet/dry? Or maybe I shouldnt ask. Its in a polystyrene box as is the ex1200 because I dont have complete faith.

At the start is wasnt filling up and emptying properly but now it seems to be working fine. It even says its a 'sensitive' filter. I wouldnt use it as the main filter because the flow pretty much turns off and on whilst it fills and empties.

Yeah I love quiet tanks and I had read alot of reports about them gurgling. I understand now its people not setting them up right, not the filter fault. They were very new when I was looking and the lack of mech filtration got me worried. I have the perfect spot for the intake on my tank but no room under it to take another filter:cry:
