Hi folks

Picked these up yesterday and was hoping for a mixed group, i bought four but only need an id on these 3 as im sure the other is a male, and even if i wanted to photograph him he is not budging from his cave!

all 3 are males
agghh!! i knew that was coming! lol

i was just crying into my beer telling the missus that it wouldnt suprise me if the 3rd pic was a male as although it doesnt have much ordontal growth it doesnt have female hips or head shape either.

Time for many more beers me thinks, and a trip back to pier for some females tommorow, and maybe another tank!

#3 is possibly female the other 2 are male.
From the pectoral fin to the pelvic fin is a straight line (larger chest cavity), in males this continues to the caudle on a horizontal (IMO).

Thanks to all the replies so far, i went to bad last night convinced i had a tank full of males, and when i turned the lights on that tank this morning found the possible female had shacked up with the big male in a cave! at first i wondered if it might be a fight for dominance and one was trying to nick the others spot, but they have settled in nicely together so im going to leave em to it and see what progresses, although i'll keep an eye out to make sure its not to blokes having a scrap.

Full credit to Pier as well, after speaking to them about females they said i could happily bring 2 of the males back rather than buy more. Hats off to them, it is now my number 1 shop!

the only downside is ive lost another L270 fry this morning, both different ages and sizes, but i shall save that for another thread.

Thanks again folks
