Its been two weeks since setting up. The aquagro co2 kit was doing ok, i would recommend it for a tank thats plants only but I want to keep shrimps too and was worried that the kit wasn't controllable enough plus didn't want to pay for refill bottles every month or less. I bought a JBL proflora 401 which is a CO2 cylinder setup, comes complete with a pressure regulator, reactor, bubble counter and a disposable CO2 cylinder, also test permanent co2 and ph kit and daily fertilizer. You can buy an adapter so that you can use refillable CO2 bottles which is my intention, would of got one the same day but the shop were waiting for them to come in.

Set up the new CO2 kit today plus added a few plants and replanted some of the others. Also did a fairly large water change and took out the wood and scrubbed it as it has been leaking gunky stuff:dk: Also put in a moss ball from another tank, not sure exactly wheres it's going to go atm so its sitting on the wood lol.

photos taken today, the water is slightly cloudy due to water change.

oh, have a snail, a gold coloured one, moves real fast for a snail lol.

Im going to take the heater out in a month or so, the room is pretty warm so don't think i need it for the best part of the year.

No I used grey cotton and tied them on. needs to be done in a fairly thin layer. I put it on too thick so all the riccia underneath died, but luckily seems to be sorting itself out now.

terrific, what sort of shrimp are you planing?
Not 100% sure yet, so suggestions welcome.

I did get some blue shrimp but ive put them in my big tank as they wouldn't stand out very well in the nano. I guess something that is red maybe but not cherry shrimp lol.

Not bad, the co2 kit is running well, no algae. The plants at the back shot up, the hairgrass is doing quite good but has some brown blades, the riccia is getting a bit thicker and the glossostigma i spread out a bit more, doing ok. Need to check the kh and compare with chart but putting around 3-4 bubbles in per minute.
