Thanks to dOOds I have a cool pair of L200 green phantoms. They are big 6/7 inches. So, my question is what size caves do I need and where can I get them from?

lovely, do you know if you have a male and female?
I have some blue phantoms but cant sex them.
I am trying all size and shape caves but rarely see them use one. I have some pottery vases from charity shops, try to pick ones that are not shiny glaze but rougher surface
I also have some diff size PVC drainpipe caves and some home made clay caves.
you could also look in garden centres for clay flower pots or broken pots to make shelters. Mine also like large pieces of wood wheich they hide under a lot.
do you have any pics of them?

Well we got them out and had a good look at them and think we have a pair because the head shape is slightly different, not much but slightly. The one we thought was male is bigger. They were all hairy.

I guess time will tell, if I have 2 females they will never cave and if I have 2 males I guess they may fight.

the breeding report i read said that the phantoms bred in a recess of a rock formation, not even a cave like structure, maybe try to recreate this, give them a cave(ish) area made from piled up rocks.

if i was to try any standard cave though, i'd try some 3" pvc pipe

I have only had mine a week and I have learnt that A. They are mega poo machines, Grubby drop a whole courgette and watch them nail it:). B. They are pretty aggressive to each other.......so much so I have ordered up a new tank.

Well I've only had then since saturday so still too early to tell personalities. One is happy to be out the other dives for cover when he/she sees me. Not a scrap of agression. I put in Courgette saturday night and last night and they just nibbled it certainly didn't nail it, but it was their first feeds so early days. What else you feeding gee?
