I'd go with more wood - but then again - your've got a few big fish in there so the more open the better :)

Looking good though :)

I'm just about to order a 6x2x2.5 (hopefully tomorrow :D :D)

Yeah i do like the minimal look myself, plus its soo much easyer to keep clean! Just put my Flagtail Fish in to compleate the tank. Are you having a custom tank made SmithRC? or is it a Rena tank your getting? I could only find the Aqua One and Rena tanks for sale apart from going for a custom tank but i didnt fancy the 12 week wait that came with them. Got my tank through Pier Aqautics and it came within 2 weeks :)

I agree with Scatz... the minimal look works well with the big fish...

As for my tank, its sort of custom....

Its a seashell "Elite" tank and stand - the ones that Maidenhead stores sell)....
But it's a special order - 72" x 24" x 24" is a standard option - but I'm going for an extra 6" on the height (I wanted an extra 12" but it doubled the price!)

They have been really helpful, I'm getting the stand made up as if it were a sump setup so it'll all be open plan with extra strengthening where it needs it, the tank will be drilled at each end with plumbing as if it were for a sump setup - but I'll be fitting externals at the moment. If you've seen the tanks, I'm also getting the stand made without the odd lip they have on them as standard too :)

I'm still not sure what heigh stand to get, I was going to go for 24" with a 36" tank but with the cost of the tank I'll be sticking with the 30" version - so... do I go 24" or 30"....

I had to put 2" deep Wood panels under all the feet of my tank just to get the height i wanted, im putting a sofa in front of my tank so it needed to be just clear of the sofa! What will you be keeping in your new tank, i presume something big that swims at the top

You will have a few fish in it then.

I have in the 6ft tank:
Red Tail Golden Arowana
3x 4-6" Clown Loach
3 x Severums
1x 6" Flagtail Prochichlidous
1x 11" L14
1x 9-10" L600

And i think thats a lot in the tank, thought about selling the severums and clown loach and maybe getting a Giraffe Catfish quite rare though not many people like them but i think they look great

Oh yeah - forgot the clowns - we've got 11 across 3 tanks at the moment - all will be together again :) 3 or 4 of them are about 6" :)

A Giraffe cat would be very cool - I'm a fan :)
Our local maidenhead used to have one called Bruce - They used to give it a ball to play with and it always came to the glass to say hi :D

Our L014 is about 6", there will be a L024, an L114 and our long serving common :)

there are also groups of cories, sidimonkis, and petricolas to add to the mix :)
