I just realised that I have a few freshwater hydra in my tank, these things are similar to small anemones and can be harmful to baby fish as they give off a poisonous sting which can stun them, but they are harmless to the adults.

Anyway I didn't want them in the tank so did a bit of research, med's can get rid of them but I never use any sort of med's with catfish, another way was to have a few blue gourami's but they would hurt baby catfish. So what I did was got a bucket of boiling water and just dipped all the cave's and driftwood with them on it for 15 min's and that did the trick, I still have some but no where near as much as did half an hour ago.

Hydra's come when you overfeed the tank, something I do a lot of. Im just posting this in case someone in the future wants a quick fix to the problem.
