your gorgeous tanks , need advice

Hi all,
I've just been drooling over many of your tanks , 9 pages of beautiful, natural tanks and some very happy and lucky plecs who live in them. Very creative and extremely inspiring. Some seem as close to natural as one can in one's house ! All I can say is :clap: :clap: :clap:

Ha, sorry SCATZ , I was wondering how to gently break it to my husband that the expensive, huge castle he bought for my tank ( and I've been using) really isn't the natural look i prefer....I have mentioned it a few times but he seems to think it looks great -keep in mind his brother had a tank in the '60's and they decorated it in such way...and my tank being a corner tank, the castle fits in pretty good , but i know i can do a better job with natural look , yet it was a gift meant well and he is on the stubborn side. I wasn't gonna say,but since I began it , and you asked ....so kinda stuck with it , along with lots of wood and stones and a few pcs of slate ,so far. Trying to make it all work together , but I am SURE my L128 has never seen a castle in his/her native homeland and I have another L128 on hold at the store....no castles or unnatural things in store tank either ....

So ,would prefer to remove it , but don't want to hurt his feelings and he dosent get the natural look being good for the fish.....must be the old '60's thing. Thanks for asking ,but bet your'e sorry you did :yes: Georgie

ld one. But the fish will feel much more at home with a natural look consisting of woods, rocks and sand. Maybe try the 'its just i fancy a change' route Scatz might be able to help more.. i mean what do i know? Im only 15.. :lol:

Poor you zeebo. I agree with Jack. I'd say use current tank with the castle as a goldfish tank and buy a new tank for your cats.

hahaha, some good suggestions, i would go with the heath option, did you know that some of the colours they use on these decorations can be toxic to plecs :whistle::whistle::whistle:

Get heap of java moss and put it on the castle, get some fruit bag sorta mesh to tie it on and when the moss grows out thru it it will look much more natural.

I agree with the last few deviate comments, Drop the sucker !!..Do It! do it now! lol

If the paints used on it are lead based, they are detrimental to anything in contact lol specially a creature confined to the same environment...That should help..

Hummm :whistle: lotta good ideas here:thumbup: think I'll go with the ''drop it '' idea, as I doubt he would buy the toxic paint idea-- I had a common who grew up in there from a baby to 9'' before a medicine mis-hap took everyone ,so he knows the paint is ok , however ,if it dropped , well, can't put a broken deco in a beautiful 54g corner tank,now can we ?

"Darling i really dont like the castle in the tank anymore. I loved it but think its time for a change."

"Thank you for your honesty hunny bunch, I think if you dont like it then we should go for a new look."

"Thanks for being so understanding darling, By the way your favorite dinner is in the oven, I have also arranged a night out for you with all your friends at the local lapdance bar"

"Awww shucks your the best hunny bunch".

WELL, JoePlec, hardly your vision, but I'll give ya the honesty ,its the right thing to do -35yrs-dang , but still dig the picture in my mind of the'' drop and break''

Just gonna pull it out and set it up the way I've been dreaming and the way a plec would feel comfy and hope for the best. No fancy dinners ,but going out for brews and rock and roll music, all egos aside, and the fish win too :clap: Man ,:wb: Joe, for breakin um, made me realize this is better -hope that's what u meant to do , cuz the ''special dinner'' and other things made me want to hurl !
