In hindsight I think the first is the best non plec fish photo I have ever taken.

Why was I stuck in automatic mode for so long before, I had better fish then!!

Just wondering.. a lot of really good fish photos I see have a rather dark background. is that just dim lighting in the tank? or is the flash being used? I would just really like to know how to get that effect.

No flash used in any of those shots, in my case a result of post processing.
