I decided to see how my group of Hypancistrus L066 were doing since they are ever so slightly reluctant to come out on their own accord. I've been gradually reducing the amount of wood in the tank in the hope of seeing a little more of them. They all seem healthy enough and are noticeably larger than when I got them in mid September.

I took them out of the tank for health check and to measure them. On average they are 63.6mm TL and 45.9mm SL. One thing I noticed when they were all together was that 4 of the 12 had a noticeably different base colour, they had a yellow tinge over the usual black and white.

Beautiful fish. I see what you mean about the yellow tinge. Are you thinking they may be L333? I dont know but their patterns look pretty much the same. It will be interesting to see what they look like after growing out a little more. Very nice fish and they all look very healthy.

great fish!

Hypans will always be pretty small things to me but surely there is more than one sp. in this group?
