I've just filled my large barrel for doing water changes and whilst filling it I noticed that a fog/cloud was coming out of the barrel. Does anybody have an explanation for this? I thought it might be due to cold water (around 5 degrees celsius) and the warm air temperature (around 24 degrees celsius) or perhaps some of the gases within the water being released :dk:

Right now the water companies are struggling to deal with all the burst pipes ect and they will be using any chemicals they have to keep the water disinfected. I would not use untreated tap water for some time.

The water usually stays circulating in the barrel for a day and then I double dose with Seachem Prime. Do you think is enough to make the water 'safe'?
