Hypan ID please

Here are two videos of the fish in question. I think they are 129. They were being moved so I figured I would get an ID while I have them out

Hi , yes could be 129, or young L270. if they stay small then will be 129, the choc zebs get a big bigger. do you know how old they are?

No idea they were given to me. I'd say they are about 2"-2.5" TL

Well the thread is named HYPAN ID.. the id you offered was not a hypan. quite easy to distingiush a hypan from a panaque not so easy to tell L270 and L129 apart. Dont worry about sounding rude or nasty, i did not take it that way.

L204 belong to a new genus, Panaqolus I have mistaken L129 for L204 before now when out of water easy mistake to make.

That's the problem I just want to let them go but I don't want to pass on fish with a false id.
Should I take some pictures of them? Maybe that will be better.

You could try some in water photos although as said they are pretty small and often mistakes are made with id of juvies imo

We all do. Sometimes I look at a plec and can't tell whether its a panaque or hypan.
