Sexing L021 & Disjunctivus

Can anyone tell me what sex these two are? They are both about 13.5"

We've had the for almost 5 years and don't know what sex they are.

Need clearer, closer pictures of the genital papilla. Really only way to tell with these.

The one you are calling a Disjunctivus is really a L001(Pterygoplichthys joselimaianus )

Second one is a L021(as you said).

Sexing is for the most part pointless as they only breed in mud ponds.

I can't find the exact one in the gallery but I was told that this was a disjunctivus.

I'd agree, disjunctivus. Belly pattern is not quite as defined as some, based on the belly shot alone, could be seen as L001, but top view definitely disjunctivus.

They both look a lot alike from the top:

The L012 on the left and the disjuctivus on the right, sometimes it's hard to tell them apart from the top.

P. pardalis (L021) & P. disjunctivus are nearly indistiguishable from the top. Belly pattern is the clear indication.

I agree and change my opinion to disjunctivus. Top shot is NOT L001.

Strange, I've never seen a disjunctivus belly like that with the wavy lines so far apart
