There about 10 inches.
Anything i put in the tank, as i have to meet requirements for the sevs and cats if it goes in the oscars eat it.

Pellets (cichlid, carnivore, catfish), algae wafers, carrots, peas, prawn, mussel, blood worm oh and the end of the syphon.

Very nice, i don't share an interest in extremely red oscars but yours are lovely.
I was put off by alot of people from buying oscars but mine are full of personality and charm, i can't imagen not having them.

34 3foots wow your water bill must be sky high

thats 1,360gallons of water

i am gunna get 10 2ft's and have a trio to each one
and have 5 4ft grow outs in about 4 or 5 months

well not 34 3 foots, weve got 2, 2.5, 4 and 5 foots running at the minute.
Thankfully were not on a water meter just a monthly bill so it's not expensive at all, the electric on the other hand...

I don't mind the big electric bills, i have enough common fish spawning regular enough that they feed and treat themselves so i pay the electric in return for enjoying them :D

It's a big jump from here to Aus
All the tanks have individual heaters, none of the tanks meet any others so all equipment is sterilized before using it anywhere else, none of the filters are shared or on a system, i still wc them all by hand, no fancy gadgets :D
Too much time on my hands i suppose.
although i work, have kids and other pets i still find time to keep ontop of each tank. I'm sure when i'm old and my back gives in i'll lessen my tanks but for now i'm a spring chicken so i've got another 30 tanks to order shortly :woohoo: and 30 filters and heaters.

wow you have your tanks in shed?
or your house if so you must have a large house
and yeh was a lot longer then just across the pond =]
i use a single syphone about 4 inch wide for WC and only have 3 tanks
running atm but sorting out racking for my 2fters sounds like you
have it under wrap with the sterizing of equipment if put in other tanks
i might have to look into that....

i dip the nets so i don't need to worry about moving any nasties but it's rare it would happen aslong as your rinse them with hot water if you end up moving any poorly/dead fish with it.i only move a filter if i have a major shut down (i have 3 spare internals and 2 externals running just incase) and heaters are dried out and washed down before transfering.
I have most in the extention 6 in the dining room and 3 in the living room, not a big house, 3 bed semi but we have a 170foot back garden with 2 shed and a green house that are coming down next week so i'm filling the space with the biggest shed i can find and racking it out...i might get some space back in the house then :D but i doubt it...i'll just add to what i have as per normal.
To be honest i've not been keeping fish for very long so i just do what i think is right i'm sure i'll learn plenty as i go along and won't need to do half the time consuming stuff i do.
Anyway it's 2.47 am i'm off to bed, have a good night and good luck with the decision on your oscars.
