Hi all, I have had this RO Unit in the loft now for about 18months, nver been used since I bought it locally, so needs a good clean and new filters etc, but I am confused on how to use it.

A few questions, sorry

(1) First of all, can anyone tell me the make and model, and is there a manual for it.
(2) The water storage drum, how does this work, I can see how water can go in, but how does it come out?
(3) In picture 3, theres two devices, one is marked with in and out and two inputs and two outputs, then there is a dewice next to it, marked 300 flow, but it is connected to nothing, should it be and what does it do?

Any help is appreciated.

Bloody thing:

In the above picture, what the following do:

1 - This I think is my water input from my taps etc
2 - Either the tank feed or the drain ????
3 - Either the tank feed or the drain ????
4 - This connected to nothing, but should it be?
5 - What is this device, it has 300 flow marked on it
6 - What connect here, do I need this, if feeding directly to my tanks
7 - Unsure what this does, its like a bicycle valve, press it in and air comes out.
8 - Looks like some sort of pressure switch, it has in and out marked on both ends and two lines in and out.

Lastly, I have read everywhere that you have to flush your membrane now and again, how do I do this?

i wouldnt get releasing to much air from the valve on your storage tank. i think this is the presure part that has like a inflated baloon inside .water is forced into the storage tank untill full .once full the ro filter should stop producing water. when you open your filterwater tap (eg kitchen sink ) the presured baloon will force the water to your sink usualy via a inline carbon filter.

i have a simlar filter but mine has electric pump and auto switches. my tank has a T on the top with one in and one out.

2 gos to tank
3 to kitchen tap
5 to drain. its got a flow restrictor.without this all water would go to drain and none forced through the RO membrain.check your RO Gallon per day rating when you get new and get a flow restrictor to suit your membrain.

Whooops, can I refill it? Truthfully I held it in for about 2-3 seconds, to see what it did. See, I am unsure if I need this, as I have a float valve in my sump, and I want to automatacilly do water changes, I will have a pump on a timer, that will drain the sump of approx 30 litres a day, then with the float valve on the sump with RO Unit connected mixed with HMA from my HMA unit, it will refill the sump again. So unsure if I need this storage tank, or am I mistaken?

Dont think it will matter  storage is realy only for if your using it to drink like we do.

are you mixing the RO and hma in a seperate tank before adding to your sump?
I know of people who do constant trickle on discus systems and have overflow from sump to drain.

i am sure you can ditch the storage tank. and last carbon filter the inline one.

keep the 3 big 10" pods for prefilter, carbon and chlormine etc and the Ro pod. from this you can take it strait to a float valve .

The outputs of the RO unit and HMA unit, will be connected to a tap then to a float valve on the sump. The sump as an overflow drain, if the float valve fails.

I will have another pump on a timer and set to empty 20-30 liters a day from the sump, then when the float valve drops it will fill up from the ro/hma output to the desired level.

hope this helps.

The storage tank is there as the output of the RO is so low. Typically ROs are rated @ gallons per day with 25 & 50 models being common. Given 20-30L is about 5-7gallons, that could take hours to produce, up to even 8 hours.
