Hi,
I have just had an idea for my tank, i am thinking about getting some fancy guppies i have typed them in on the internet and have not found anything!
Do they school?
Can you keep males together?
Do males NEED a female?
Am i right if males have longer fins?
are they easy to breed?
Water temp.?
Tempermant?
Diet?
easy to keep?
Special requiremnets?
does the colour matter? e.g blue and black easier to keep than red and black?

Thanks, BPK

Not really, they're just kinda all over the place.

Yes, males can live together.

Don't need to have females.

Males are the ones with the fancier tails & longer dorsals. They are easy to id as they are slimmer & more colorful.

Very easy to breed. Put male & female together & you'll have babies. in fact females can store sperm so could even have babies w/o males.

Any reasonable temp.

Standard community flake is fine

Very easy to keep

Don't keep males with other fish that'll nip fins or possibly eat them. Strong currents can be problematic as males with large tails can be poor swimmers.

Color doesn't matter so long as the strain in general is healthly & hearty.

Guppies can only problematic in that they are bred in large numbers and often are disease ridden. You need to be sure that the guppies come from a reputable source and are in good health.

be very wary of the red tail black shark. they can be very aggressive. cheers jk
years ago (like when i was 15) we had a RTBS and some tetras and a pleco.
and it wasnt long before there was only the RTBS and the pleco left.he was spotted attacking the tetras.
The shark was a very nasty fish, ended up giving it back to the LFS.
