Ive had my albino a few months now and not really seen much of him as he hides a lot however ive came home tonight to find hes not even bothering trying to hide and both his cheeks are really swollen aswell as most of his body anybody got any ideas?? fed on cucumber and algae wafers thanks

sorry to hear this. Swollen checks could mean gill issues. some other questions. can you put him in a Quarantine tank ? What size tank have you got, when was your last water change ? How big is he ? Any other fish in tank with symptoms ? cheers jk :thumbup:

hi i cant put him in the qt tank as its in use just now, hes in a 3ft tank(due to be moved to a 4ft) i had a disaster with a filter and sand a few feek's ago and had to resort to a 60% water change and a new external filter i cant see any symptons with the other fish just now any help would be great cheers

ok if you have some peas, deshell them, blanch then for 20seconds and put in the tank. Do not feed for 1days. The other fish( you didnt state what you have ) should also be fine. Use Melafix and Pimafix as a double treatment if you have this. I would also do another 20% water change. It can be that you new filter and sand has not cycled. Use seachem prime if you have this. Do you have any access to live bacteria for cycling ? cheers jk :thumbup:

My thoughts are he has picked up an internal bacterial infection...Try treating with Interpet No9 or Pimafix, but No9 would be my first choice... Do plenty water changes to keep the water in tip top condition...Add a bit more aeration while you treat :thumbup:
